“POST PUNK” – Alternative Strategies 2020 Interviews zine

Alternative Strategies started as a reaction to the first lockdown and the abrupt ending of Another Subculture’s listings (I still have hundreds of copies of March 2020’s issue, if anyone wants a grim reminder!) – emailing friends, labels, streamers and Punk People and asking them how they were doing. Printed on inkjet and in collaboration with familiar contributors, I got hundreds of copies out and spent more on cartridges than is truly healthy.

This A5 zine compiles my interviews conducted in those issues: longer chats with Sop, Ray Aggs, The Remote Body and  Quarantunes; catch-ups with The Annihilated, Plastics, John Fletcher, Bent Fest, BOOKS Peckham, Big Joanie, UKHC Returns and Powerplant. There’s also some editor’s letters from the time – starting in May 2020 and ending at December. Early plans give way to sit-down gigs, protests and a building crisis, and it does read longer than two years ago.
