“Not a fest.” I found a digital camera (a Sony Cybershot DSC-S80, here used in default settings) in a local charity shop the week before Another Subculture is 10 and it felt pretty apt; I’d heard that The Kids were getting into early 2000s photography to evoke that Frutiger Aero/early social media aesthetic and the whole kit cost less than it does to develop one roll of film, so here we are. God, I feel old.

Friday’s gig catered for the noisier end of contemporary hardcore and ended with me DJing at the wrong speed. Saturday was a dream night under the disco ball and with a green room full of guitar bands and happy faces. The whole weekend was a joy peppered with terror, and to that I thank you all for playing, attending and drinking.
